The church is one of the oldest in the vicinity with boxed in pews and a circular bench in the rear, where people took off their heavy winter garments and warmed themselves after long slow trips to church.  Other features of an antique nature include windows with 40 panes of glass, wide pine floor boards, Christian Cross doors, and oil reflector lamps.  In 1838, a group of Baptist, Free Will Baptist, Methodist and Christian orders funded the building of the meeting house.  The congregation was Baptist until 1861, when it was rededicated by the Methodists.  In 1909 Harry Cochrane frescoed the church.
